Based in South Manchester and Vocal Course Manager at Access To Music College, Kathy is an Associated Board, London College of Music and Estill trained vocal coach who teaches clients of all ages and abilities.
Kathy prides herself on teaching how the voice works and how to create specific sounds, not just in the lesson but also enabling students to create their own vocal tool-box of resources. Her extensive and ongoing research into the anatomy of the voice ensures her students learn the safest techniques and improve week upon week through their understanding.
As a performer herself, all lessons ensure that the pupil works on the performance and delivery of their songs, especially if it is an audition/performance piece.
Typical areas clients wish to explore:
-Vocal tension and ‘cracking’
-Breath and support
-Performance / Stylist features / Acting through song
-Health and safety
-Exploring voice qualities.
Current and past clients include drama school auditionees, West End vocalists, touring vocalists, solo artists, session singers and tribute acts, as well as pupils who just want to try something new and have some fun!
Kathy currently teaches from her home studio in West Didsbury/Withington as well as hosting workshop days and events for corporations/schools.
